Preparation and key points of mold and mold clamp


1. Dry the mold with a heating tool (such as a drying box or a blowtorch) before use to remove moisture. Molds that have not been used for a long time contain moisture, especially molds with residue left after the previous use.


2. To clean the mold, please use a soft brush or other soft material.


3. Check the tightness of the mold contact surface to prevent copper liquid from leaking out of the gap during operation.


4. The mold clamp is used to open and close the mold. The tightness of the mold clamp has an impact on the welding effect. Please check the mold clamp carefully and make appropriate adjustments before the welding starts.


5. Install and adjust the mold clamp to adjust the tightness of the mold clamp and the tightness of the mold to a better state. The adjustment method is as follows:


a) Put the mold clamp in the open state or position


b) Loosen the mold clamp fixing latch (1)


c) Take out the fixing bolt (2)


d) Adjust the adjusting screw (3) to rotate counterclockwise (loose)


e) Insert the fixing bolt and lock


f) Open and close the mold clamp and observe the effect.

The installation and adjustment of the mold clamp has an important influence on the welding quality of "hot welding" and the service life of the mold and the mold clamp, so please adjust the distance carefully before welding. Regardless of whether there is a weld in the mold, improper clamping distance will cause damage to the mold and the mold clamp.

6. The Jichangdi brand exothermic welding mold is made of graphite, which is very fragile and cannot withstand throwing and force impact. Therefore, it is not allowed to force the welded material beyond the size shown on the mold nameplate into the mold, or use metal or hard tools. Wait to remove the residue.
